How Biopesticides Improve Production Agriculture
Recorded from a live event held on March 30, 2011
Duration: 1 hour
Marrone Bio Innovations has partnered with Farm Press to provide an online webinar about biopesticides.
During this webinar, Dr. Pam Marrone will discuss the rapidly growing biopesticide industry, and will also teach participants about the effective use of biopesticides in production agriculture. Participants will learn how to successfully integrate biofungicides into highly effective disease management programs.
Biopesticides are pesticides that are derived from biological or naturally derived sources, and the use of biopesticides is rising rapidly in all parts of the world. This rise is attributed to the successful integration of biopesticides in conventional agricultural systems, as biopesticides can improve chemical pest control programs. Because they feature complex modes of action, biopesticides are also excellent resistance management tools when used alone or in combination with chemicals. Biopesticides also have very short re-entry and pre-harvest intervals, so growers can often harvest crops immediately after application, which is particularly important on crops that are shipped globally and subject to international residue limits.
